Acoustics
-
Our Pods provide high-level speech privacy and are tested according to ISO 23551-1. In practice, this means a Pod can be placed close to workstations without conversations inside being intelligible to people outside.
-
ISO 23551-1 is an international standard that measures the speech level reduction of office pods as a single clear performance value. Category A represents a high level of speech privacy of ≥30 dB.
-
A speech reduction of ≥30 dB means that conversations inside the Pod are significantly attenuated and barely audible to people nearby. Conversations are not intelligible, ensuring speech privacy.
-
No. Pods are designed to provide speech privacy and concentration, not complete soundproofing. In office environments, safety signals such as fire alarms must remain perceptible. Our focus is on practical performance: conversations inside the Pod are not intelligible outside, while maintaining a comfortable acoustic experience inside.
-
In addition to sound insulation, interior acoustics are equally important. Our Pods are designed so that speech sounds natural and clear during phone and video meetings. This prevents users from raising their voices and helps maintain speech privacy.
-
Yes. Thanks to their acoustic performance (ISO 23551-1 Category A, ≥30 dB speech reduction), our Pods are suitable for placement within the working environment, including near workstations.
Placement & Usage
-
A Pod works best when positioned close to the people who use it. This encourages regular use and prevents colleagues from being disturbed or overhearing conversations.
Thanks to their acoustic performance (ISO 23551-1 Category A), our Pods can be placed near workstations without conversations being intelligible outside.
-
Our Pods are designed as freestanding units and can also be positioned against a wall or in a corner.
The exact clearance requirements for each model can be found in the technical specifications.
-
Yes. Our Pods can be connected. This allows for the creation of a row of linked Pods with different functions while maintaining the same depth.
Our modular construction, with interchangeable panels and glazing, makes it possible to expand or reduce the size of a Pod. All Pods can be reconfigured.
This means that a small focus Pod can evolve into a meeting configuration, or multiple Pods can be combined into a larger collaboration space. The investment grows alongside the organisation.
-
Our Pods are modular in construction and can be disassembled and reinstalled during office reconfiguration or relocation.
This eliminates the need for costly structural modifications to the building.
-
·There is no fixed formula. A good starting point depends on:
· Team size
· Number of daily (video) calls
· Frequency of ad-hoc meetings
· Overall noise level
In offices with frequent hybrid meetings, a balanced mix of solo and meeting Pods is often ideal.
We are happy to advise based on your floor plan and usage patterns. -
Yes. Our Pods operate as self-contained units with integrated lighting and ventilation. They connect to a standard power supply and do not require permanent structural modifications.
Ventilation & Comfort
-
Yes. Our Pods are equipped with an active ventilation system that continuously supplies fresh air while the Pod is in use. This ensures a comfortable indoor climate, even during longer calls or meetings.
-
No. The ventilation system is designed to remove excess heat and maintain consistent air quality. Under normal office conditions, the temperature remains comfortable throughout extended use.
-
Air is continuously refreshed during use. The exact airflow capacity depends on the specific model and can be found in the technical specifications.
-
No. The ventilation system is engineered to operate efficiently and quietly. In a standard office environment, the fan noise does not disrupt the surrounding workspace.
-
Yes. Our Pods are designed for focused work, calls and meetings. The combination of ventilation, lighting and acoustic control ensures a comfortable environment, even during intensive use.
-
Yes. The integrated lighting is optimised for work and meeting scenarios, including video calls. The light distribution is even and supports a natural appearance without harsh shadows.
Sustainability & Certification
-
Our Pods are largely produced using post-consumer and post-industrial materials. Recycled textile streams are given a second life as acoustic felt inside our Pods.
All structural components are made from 100% recycled wood, and the aluminium profiles contain 76% recycled aluminium.
-
Circularity means our Pods are designed for reuse, disassembly and replaceable components. Thanks to the modular grid system, elements can be exchanged, upgraded or reused in a different environment.
-
Each Pod comes with an Eco Passport. This document provides full transparency regarding material composition, origin, reuse potential and environmental impact. It makes sustainability measurable and transparent for clients and architects.
-
Yes. Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are available for seven certified Pods. These independently verified documents provide transparent insight into the environmental performance across the full product life cycle.
Our EPD documentation demonstrates our strong environmental performance and underlines our commitment to delivering some of the most sustainable Pods on the market.
-
Our Pods are designed and manufactured locally in the Netherlands. This supports regional employment while reducing transport distances and associated CO₂ emissions.
-
Our Pods support sustainability objectives by:
Being largely made from recycled materials
Being almost fully recyclable at end of life
Featuring a modular and future-proof design
Being relocatable and reconfigurable
Being transparently documented through our Eco Passport and EPDs
As a result, they provide a sustainable alternative to permanent structural construction solutions.
-
Yes. Thanks to the modular construction, individual components can be replaced or upgraded without replacing the entire Pod. This significantly extends the product’s lifespan and reduces its overall environmental impact.
All fabric covers on the (optional) sofas are removable.
Power & Technical Integration
-
Our Pods are supplied with a 3-metre power cable with a standard plug, allowing connection to a regular wall socket.
The power cable can be routed through the roof or via the floor skirting into the Pod and supplies power to the lighting, ventilation and internal connection points.
-
Depending on the model and configuration, power sockets, USB connections and data integrations can be incorporated. Exact options vary per layout and intended use.
-
Yes. Thanks to the modular design, connections can be expanded or modified when the layout or usage changes. This ensures long-term flexibility and adaptability.
-
Yes. When a VC connection column or technical module is integrated, a monitor bracket can be mounted onto the designated steel mounting panel. Openings are provided for cable management, power sockets and other technical integrations.
Monitors can also be mounted directly onto the upholstered interior or exterior wall panels. If required, this can be combined with additional power sockets or devices such as webcams and speakers.
-
Our Pods are designed to function in standard office environments without disrupting common wireless signals. Under normal conditions, WiFi and mobile connections remain stable.

Yes. Technical specifications are available for each model, including connection options and configuration possibilities. This documentation can be provided upon request.
The same applies to 2D and 3D files for architects and designers.
Accessibility
-
Yes. Our Pods comply with the accessibility requirements of NEN 9120 and NEN–EN 17210 regarding wheelchair access.
Unlike many pods on the market, Ecolution Pods do not feature a raised floor. The 15 mm threshold complies with the maximum height permitted under the NEN standard and can optionally be fitted with a sloped ramp.
The door opening exceeds 90 cm in width, and a turning circle of 1.5 metres can be created in accordance with Dutch government accessibility guidelines.
The entrance is designed to be low-threshold, ensuring safe and easy access.
-
All Pods are prepared to adjust the door position on-site. The hinge side can be switched from left to right, and the opening direction can be changed from inward to outward.
This flexibility ensures the Pod can be integrated into virtually any floor plan and allows adjustments in case of relocation or changes to the surrounding interior.
A second rear door is available on request for each Pod. Doorway dimensions comply with international wheelchair accessibility standards. Pods equipped with an extension column can be configured to open inward when positioned on either the left or right side.
